2019 will be a relishing experience for audience in South India because there are quite a few exciting films that are lined up for release this year. From Balakrishna-starrer NTR, Prabhas' Saaho to Vijay's film with Atlee, there are about to hit the screens. Then there is the magnum opus Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy in Telugu which features megastar Chiranjeevi in the titular role. And in Tamil, Vijay's film with Atlee will also be released this year and is said to be another feast for the fans. Suriya will also join the race with two films, NGK and Kaappaan, making the year a special one for his fans. Superstar Mahesh Babu too is in this race with Maharshi which is said to be another stylish flick in his career. So, considering all these films, it is obvious that there s huge amount of money that is riding on these stars. .Prabhas' Saaho is said to be made on a budget of Rs 140 crore which is the highest in the career of the Baahubali star. Maharshi starring Mahesh Babu is being made on a budget of Rs 60 crore approximately, which is yet to be confirmed, and will be second highest in the career of the actor after Spyder. Chiranjeevi-starrer Sye Raa is another big-budget film in South Indian cinema which has garnered great attention. Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is said to be made on an approximate budget of Rs 150 crore and will be the most expensive film in the career of the actor.
.Next in line is the prestigious biopic on legendary actor N.T. Rama Rao titled NTR. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, NTR biopic is said to be made on an approximate budget of Rs 110 crore which is officially yet to be confirmed. Tamil actor Vijay is also in the race with his upcoming film with director Atlee which is said to be planned on a huge budget. Although the film is yet to go on floors, reports reveal that the film could be made on a budget of approximately Rs 80 crores. Suriya will have two releases, NGK and Kaappaan, both of which are stylish flicks made on a budget of Rs 40-50 crores each.
.And one cannot keep Rajinikanth out of the context when we are talking about South Indian cinema. Rajinikanth-starrer Petta will begin the mega feast this year in January which is made on an approximate budget of Rs 60 crores. The film has a stellar star cast and includes names like Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vijay Sethupathi.
